Gouache

I have a new box of gouache that a kind friend helped me purchase. So I tried using it. Have not previously attempted gouache, and these are the first 2 paintings, each slightly larger than A5. I realized that gouache is an in-between of acrylic and watercolor. A good blend. Anyway, need much more practice with this medium.
Not sure how long it took in doing these 2, wasn't particularly long. Neither did I use lots of paint. Love this Daler Rowney stuff. Just a little paint yielded very vibrant colors. Awesome.
However, the trade off came in the form of my beloved brush. It was ruined by the masking fluid//my lack of brush-cleaning experience. Poor thing. That brush costs one-third the price of my entire box of gouache. Conclusion: use an old brush for experiments involving unfamiliar substances, i.e. common sense.
