I'll just note this random thing down while I remember. Was having a conversation with this other schoolmate-to-be, & she related her 'experience' of being overseas to me. A very protected environment where she wasn't even aware of the price of her food. How sweet would you call that, would you even consider that an experience? Pack of friends to play bodyguards for you, & coaches to take you around town to prominent sites. I realise in this country a large majority is destined to a life of packaged tour, a tour so similar to their life journey. Predictable, routined, & laid out in a certain format - find a significant other during education years (or worse, marry a colleague! OMG), build up a secure career & a substantial pension, stock up on insurance, procreate, prosper a bit in wealth & weight, grow old, retire & live off pension while taking packaged tours at 65, then die. No offence, though I personally think living like a vagabond & dying on the road is perhaps a rather less regretful thing. Just... Opinions.
