View from my current workplace. When we fail to pay attention to things nearest to us, but instead focus on the distant, unattainable & "glamorous", it really doesn't mean that we miss out less.
Like Lake Placid perhaps? This is the land where assistance is rendered within & without, yet, only scrutiny would permit one to recognise the turmoil that simmers beneath this surface beauty and the people's smiles and kindness.
In the dead silence of the night, (apart from the anticlimactic, ceaseless traffic that runs the highway) it is quite an awesome time to contemplate the meaning of being here. And so my mentor always talks about trying one's best, I hope I can perhaps achieve half of what he & his team do.
It is for once not the sheer beauty that captivates, but all the virtues that lie beneath.
