Day #23: From A-Luoi to Hue (22-May-2010)
Mango breakfast. Leftover from the previous day. Don't they seriously look good?!!
Damn. These'd cost a bomb back home here at supermarkets.
Along the road, minority lady who allowed a picture of her (:
(Below) Girl along the road.

Work, day in day out. Is that supposed to be a universal thing?
Coffee beans out in the sun! Whoever thought they looked so colorful before being subjected to IMMOLATION?? Certainly not me, they look so different sitting in plastic Starbucks cups soaked under whipped cream. In fact, not even a single trace of them... These poor things..

Another nice lady who agreed to a photo of her. So who said smoking a pipe was not good? Puffing at this age is really a feat. Anyway her dress sense is cool. Sincere!
Mother & child from the same village (below). It isn't decent to post a shot of the breastfeeding process? Anyway yea, it was omitted. I rarely find babies cute, but this baby is. Perhaps it's just the Chinese baby thing. Runs in the blood of NOT being cute. Rather, quite abominable.
Ok, that was lunch. Good to have a companion, despite the communication breakdown. Uh.. The food, meaty? Gosh. I realise my feminist side showing. Females are somehow much more interesting a subject matter to capture? Hell I never really thought of taking pictures of guys!! They're... Uninteresting? Plain..? Plain boring.

More random shots along the way. (Above) The Laos border... English!! "Special Economic-Commercial Area". I wonder what that means. So can I cycle thru or do they only allow 'economic-commercial-related' vehicles to pass?? I shall try to find out another time - I hope!
Khe San Museum/Ta Con Airport Relic. 0.0!! I actually know where I was, like, for once?? Errr.. It didnt occur to me to snap a pic of the signboard initially. So, in chronological order, it's down down down there *scroll down!* Only took it when I was leaving the place. This place has English!! Practically for everything! Check it out! Cool. Erpps, it commemorates the US army who fought in the Vietnam war. Probably that's why??

People, what do you call this? It was spooky inside (Below is a shot from the inside)!!! These things still give me creeps. The rusted jets & old weapons, army uniform (belowwww). They always do. Especially, look, how many people there were around? Just me. But somehow my animalistic curiosity simply got the best of me. Not until later did a caretaker approached me to sell some souvenirs. Real bullets, war badges & stuff. They could really be antiques. The point is: I bought a bullet cos it looked cute, but it caused me to be held up at the Singapore customs for like almost an hour. Gosh, helpless-looking as I am, they thought I was carrying live firearms! ;D

Me & the natives. OMG. Am I lonely! LOL. This exemplifies the diversity of my skin color. Me now, me then. Seem like entirely different people, color-wise. (Above) A photo of courage. I never trust wax figures like that, especially not with my back to them. They might just come alive & strangle you. Beneath that smile is a wildly thumping heart alright!

Spookay!! Thank God it was broad daylight & the interior of the museum was bright....

(Above) Ruins. Literally. Relics? (Below) Courtesy of caretaker. OMG my fat arms! ):

Needed a break from the grim air. Thus, (above). Ok, now, the signboard. This is how I knew where I was. Thanks, dear.
(Below) LOL. Epic. Try this in Singapore. Kena fined until sui sui. Maybe even jail term.
Nature's wonders. A tree like this actually exists. Would you dare climb it? Durian tree! Not literally. LAME. *Shivers*
Talking abt durians, did not see any in Vietnam... I wonder wonder wonder.... Why.
More grim stuff..

(Below) Reminds me of Malaysian kastam just across causeway. But anyway, it was the Laos border at dusk.

Jackfruit fever for dinner. Yummery. & sad memories of my poor army knife. ): A reminder of stupidity & carelessness. Forgot to pack it into the check-in backpack. The poor thing got confiscated before boarding. How many times can such stupidity happen?! Mourning for the poor scissors lost on return from Cambodia. Wonder what'll be the next thing I'll lose at the checkpoint next time.

Rarararararara..... Fruits to end the day, yet again. Big bag of fruits' remnants. I mourn for them as well. But really, sweltering weathers are good for weight loss. It threatens your appetite & all you'd want at the end of the day.. Is something sweet & JUICY.
